Privacy statement

As described below in the official statement which Google Analytics users are required by law to place on their website, this website makes use of Google Analytics. This programme delivers important statistics concerning the number of visitors to our site, which pages they have visited, the sources of the traffic to the site and other essential information, which allow us to continuously improve the site for our visitors. These statistics are anonymous and cannot be traced to a particular individual or user. No use is made of so-called ‘behavioural targeting’, which would allow a profile to be compiled based on a person’s click behaviour. Your surfing behaviour remains completely anonymous.

Google Analytics makes use of a cookie, which is a small file that is saved on your computer. Google Analytics is covered by one of the exceptions under the new privacy legislation (January 2015), and may place Analytics cookies without the user’s prior consent, provided that Analytics is correctly implemented and the requirement to inform website visitors about this is satisfied. That is the purpose of this page.

Under the Dutch Telecommunications Act of January 2015, Google Analytics is covered by one of the exceptions because this cookie constitutes “little or no” infringement of privacy. In addition, Google Analytics’ cookie is a “first party cookie”, which means that the file name given to the cookie on your computer includes ‘viacryp’ in the file name, and that the data is officially the property of Viacryp B.V. and not of Google. This cookie is not used for advertising or other commercial purposes. In addition to the Dutch Telecommunications Act, the Dutch Personal Data Protection Act also applies. The use of Google Analytics is also permitted under this act, provided that it is implemented correctly. This involves satisfying four key requirements: (1) Data processing occurs between Viacryp B.V. and Google with respect to the Analytics data. (2) IP addresses are anonymised so that data cannot be traced to you or your IP address. (3) Viacryp B.V.’s Analytics account is configured in such a way that the information may not be shared with others. (4) The user is clearly informed about the use of Analytics and the opportunity to opt out.

By satisfying these four key requirements, Viacryp B.V. is in full compliance with the law. The Analytics cookie remains valid for a period of 6 months.

Viacryp’s website makes use of no other cookies besides the Google Analytics-cookie.

If you provide us with your e-mail address or other personal data, we will use this information to answer your questions as well as keep you informed of our events. We may make use of third parties who act on behalf of Viacryp for these purposes. Should you indicate that you no longer wish to receive information, we will document this and no longer use your information.

Viacryp reserves the right to transfer your personal data to a new owner/controlling party should Viacryp divest of all or any part of its business activities, either by sale or transfer of ownership, including, but not limited to, a reorganisation, dissolution or bankruptcy. We may divulge your personal data if we reasonably believe we are required to do so by law. With exception to the aforementioned, we will not provide your data to third parties for any purpose whatsoever, including, but not limited to, marketing purposes.

For your convenience, we have provided hyperlinks to third-party websites on our website. Please note that should you visit any of these websites, the privacy policy of the site, and not that of Viacryp, applies to the activities you perform on those websites and the information you divulge there.

Because you voluntarily provide your personal information to Viacryp and because this information is not particularly sensitive, we do not take special security measures for it and do not use special encryption methods.
